How do you pay for your Medicare premiums if you are not going to start taking Social Security? By Medicare premiums what I mean is Medicare Part B. So many people who are new to Medicare soon find out that it is not free. Medicare Part B has a monthly premium, and there are certain people who enroll in Medicare, many people who choose to delay taking their Social Security benefits. So they're wondering, "How do I pay the Part B premium if I'm not taking Social Security," because once you take Social Security you can have that premium deducted from your benefit. There are a few different ways that you can pay for your Part B monthly premium, and we're going to talk about that in this quick video.

The first way is called Medicare Easy Pay. Medicare Easy Pay is probably the best way to pay for your Medicare Part B premium if you want to have your Medicare Part B premium automatically drafted from your bank account each month. Paying your Part B premium this way allows you to set it up and basically forget about it. You'll never have to worry about forgetting to pay that Part B premium and having your coverage lapse as a result, so medicare Easy Pay. It's very easy to sign up for this. I'll leave a link in the description of this video to the authorization agreement in order to do this.

The next way that you can do this is by going to mymedicare.gov. You can set up your own account on mymedicare.gov, and with this account in place you can track the progress of your Medicare claims, review the balance of your Part B deductible, and even pay, again, your Medicare premiums by credit or debit card. Setting up your MyMedicare account is easy. All you'll need is your Medicare ID number. Again, I'll leave a link to that in the description of this video.

Finally, the other way that you can pay for your Part B premium is using your bank's bill payment service. Most banks today offer a bill payment service on their online platform. So you can set up an automatic payment using your bank's process of sending that payment out for you. Your bank will need your Medicare ID number, the amount of your payment, the payee name, payee address, and so forth. Again, we'll leave some information about that, including the payee address, which is a PO Box actually in St. Louis, Missouri.

Other than that, once you choose to take your Social Security benefit, you can switch then and have them take that premium before you actually get the benefit for that. So those are the three different ways that you can pay for your Medicare Part B premium if you're not going to take Social Security right away at 65.
