The Ford 445 FE engine needed to have the decks resurfaced. The Van Norman 38MEA certainly has the beef to handle this task. Trying to do some research on how to deck a block on a milling machine, I wasn't able to find any videos. I mocked up the block in a few ways. The best was to set it on one deck to surface the other. Milling machine table rock is a concern when doing a long piece. Using a horizontal mill eliminates making a convex surface due to table rock. I'm happy with the results and look forward to making further progress on this engine.
