STORYLINE:
Protesters clashed with police in the Turkish capital, Ankara, as anti-government demonstrations continued into the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police used water cannons to disperse the crowds, and made several arrests.
There was also a silence protest in Kizilay Square, where one activist was killed during the clashes that started in May.
Protests against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his government spread across Turkey after 31 May, when police cracked down on environmental activists opposed plans to remove trees and develop Gezi Park, in Istanbul.
The protests have since attracted a range of groups unhappy with the 10-year rule of Erdogan.
Many in Turkey believe he is trying to gradually impose his religious and conservative views in Turkey, which has long had a secular democracy.
