The Niger Delta is Africa's most important oil-producing region and one of the most polluted places on Earth. For decades oil spills have damaged the environment and devastated lives here. Air, land, and water have all been polluted; High levels of chromium, lead, and mercury have had catastrophic effects on the residents' health and livelihoods.
