I use a stopwatch to find out how long it takes to see from minimum to maximum, then I put that number into the "brain". Then I measure how long it takes to set to go to where I want it to be in the morning. Then I put that number in the brain. It has no "intelligence" it just runs for a set amount of time that is all there is to it.
