First ever episode of Gamesmaster, broadcast on January 7, 1992
AI fixed and upscaled for playback on big screens, still not perfect as taken from a VHS source but an improvement on the original footage
Gamesmaster was the first UK television programme dedicated to video games.
Dominik Diamond was the host for six of the original seven series while astronomer Sir Patrick Moore featured as the GamesMaster. The show's format consists of a mixture of game reviews, small "features", tips and challenges. Challenges form the biggest section of the show and generally consist of "average" players and celebrities, often competing against each other for the coveted Golden Joystick. The show was a hit from its initial series with high ratings and an audience made up mostly of adolescent boys, tuning in to hear Diamond's double entendres and sexual innuendos.
