HPV (human papillomavirus) can be scary, especially when there's so much misinformation about what it is, what causes it, and how to treat it. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the U.S., according to the CDC. More than 79 million people have one of the many types of HPV, and yes, you might be one of them. But does it go away or are you stuck with it forever? And if you get HPV, do you need to do anything about it? Maybe not. At least, not right away.
In this episode of The TMI Show, our host Tori is joined by Dr. Salena Zanotti of the Cleveland Clinic to help us understand the truth behind HPV. She answers your most pressing questions, including how HPV is transmitted, the signs and symptoms and if it's curable.
