✏ Chants of Holy week are performed by the Monastic Choir of St. Elisabeth Convent. The Choir usually uses Znamenny and Byzantine chants, Valamo chant, and adds Byzantine and Greek chants on feasts, alongside Old Bulgarian, Macedonian, and Georgian chants.
0:00 - I see Thy bridal chamber adorned (Kievan Chant)
This Exaposteilarion is usually chanted during the first three days of Holy Week.
01:13 - Of Thy Mystical Supper (Znamenny Chant)
“Of Thy Mystical Supper” is a hymn from the Liturgy of Great and Holy Thursday, when the Sacrament of the Eucharist at the Mystical Supper was established. We also hear this hymn on Sundays before approaching the chalice to receive Holy Communion.
02:51 - The Moaning of the Theotokos (Early 19th Century Chant)
08:46 - Today He Is Hung upon the Cross (Znamenny Chant)
"Today He Is Hung upon the Cross" is a stikhera of Holy Friday.
10:45 - Let all mortal flesh keep silence (Kievan Chant)
"Let all mortal flesh keep silence" is an ancient chant of Eucharistic devotion based on words from Habakkuk 2:20, "Let all the earth keep silence before him" and Zechariah 2:13, "Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling". The ancient hymn "Let all mortal flesh keep silence" replaces the Cherubikon in the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the Eucharist celebrated in the morning of Holy Saturday.
