생체시계 비밀 밝힌 美과학자 3명 노벨생리의학상 수상
The Nobel Prize in Medicine has been awarded to three American researchers for for their insights into the internal biological clock.
The Nobel Foundation says Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young won "for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the (sirkay-dee-an) circadian rhythm."
Their study found that biological clocks function by the same principles in cells of other multicellular organisms, including humans.
Our biological clock helps to regulate sleep patterns, feeding behavior, hormone release and blood pressure.
