House Speaker emerita Nancy Pelosi remained noncommittal in a Wednesday interview about President Biden’s candidacy, saying that “time is running short” to find a replacement Democratic nominee.
“It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run,” Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” after praising the 81-year-old president’s “spectacular” performance during his speech at the NATO summit in Washington, DC.
“We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short,” she added. “It’s not for me to say, I’m not the head of the caucus anymore, but he’s beloved, he is respected, and people want him to make that decision.”
