The two male leopards fell into the well in Bhatkalwadi, Maharashtra, India, on Friday morning after they were fighting near a sugarcane field. The animals, thought to be seven or eight years old, were heard growling and locals called a wildlife rescue team to try to lift them out using a makeshift cage. A crowd of around 25 had gathered to watch and shouted encouragement at the animals to get in the cage. They were rescued and taken to Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre for observation.
