In todays cinematography tutorial we continue our journey into film color theory by examining what is a triadic color scheme.
In our previous video we explored color contrast through complimentary colors, which uses two colors opposite each other on the color wheel. In this video we add a third color into the mix!
I'll show you several examples of triadic color schemes from an upcoming feature film, Girls Night Out, which I was fortunate enough to be the Cinematographer on.
This is a great example of how to use RGB lighting in photography and film, but the color theory you'll learn today can also easily apply to production design, costuming and other areas.
RGB lighting is most definitely not the only application of film color theory, and if you would like to learn more about color psychology, please let us know down in the comments!
