5 members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization begin a multinational counter-terrorism exercise today in Zhu-ri-he, in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
"Peace Mission-2014" involves over 7-thousand troops from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. They are expected to work on multilateral decision-making, enhance joint anti-terrorist efforts, and boost intelligence exchanges. The troops include ground and air forces, special operations and airborne troops, and others tasked with electronic countermeasures, reconnaissance, mapping and positioning. The six-day exercise runs through Friday.
