What better way to understand the history of Vietnamese refugees than to hear as many personal accounts as possible from people who lived that experience - from "both sides of the fence".
Curtin PhD candidate, one-time refugee and author of the book Boat People, Carina Hoang, was asked to collect oral history accounts of both refugees and the people charged with dealing with them.
This video provides a brief, but compelling insight into what Carina uncovered in this research through CUSP, the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute, and what we can learn from history.
