This tender ballad about a man and a piano had first been released on the Jubilee label in 1954 by a group known as The Toppers and under the title “(I Love To Play Your Piano) Let Me Bang Your Box” (listen here: [ Ссылка ] ). Years later when Doug Clark’s famous North Carolina party and club band (known for their novelty risqué numbers) was usually having their material released on Jubilee’s subsidiary ‘Gross’ label, this particularly well-known title got issued as a single on the parent label, though shown without the word ‘Hot’ in the group’s name.
Transferred from mono 45 single Jubilee 5536 - Baby Let Me Bang Your Box (Parts 1 & 2) (D. Wadley-K. Green) by Doug Clark & The Nuts
