Ancient temple walls' engravings reflect our culture's wealth
Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple, Telangana
An inscription in the temple says it was constructed in the year 1213 CE by Recherla Rudra—a general of Kakatiya ruler Ganapati Deva.
The temple is famous for Floating Bricks, The top of the temple is made up of floating bricks so that the load on the pillars and walls can be minimized. Thus, the chances of collapsing the temple during a natural disaster like an earthquake will be least.
Indian dance guru Nataraja Ramakrishna revived Perini Sivatandavam (Perini Dance), by seeing the sculptures in this temple.
Ramappa Temple, also known as the Rudreswara temple, is a Kakatiya style Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, located in Telangana, India.
Usually, the temples in India are named after the deity (God) of the temple. But this temple is named after the architecture of the building. His name was Ramappa.
