Actor and Impressionist Jan Ravens, has generously agreed to be our 4th storyteller in the series. She's chosen a short story from Philippa Gregory's collection 'Bread and Chocolate' published by HarperCollins. It's a beautifully told tale, moving and humorous at once. You may well recognize Jan from BBC Radio 4's popular and brilliant programme, Dead Ringers (you equally might not recognize her voice, because this time she reads as herself, as opposed to the many others she mimics so brilliantly). Huge thanks to her for agreeing to read, Philippa Gregory for allowing us to use one of her works and Nick MacDonald for editing.
We hope you enjoy listening. If you do, please consider making a donation to the Hands Up Foundation - www.handsupfoundation.org/appeals/stories.
While the world rightly focusses on COVID-19, it is so important that we do not forget those suffering in other ways. Hands Up funds vital health and education services in northern Syria and Lebanon. These services don't only provide schooling and care for patients, they also promote stability and hope. COVID19 threatens their continuation and we are determined to do all that we can to keep them going. Any donation you feel able to give will make a difference. Thank you.
