The usurer Yuan criticizes Nuán pregnancy situation to Fo, and call him a decrepit ruin, a fierce alercation starts between both ending with Fo's fatal heart attack. The 12-TET and the 34-TET scales are simultaneously used and includes several 34-TET clusters. They are indicated with square brackets in the score, including the central note within them or [X] if all the notes are in cluster; in the case of an extended cluster with more than three total notes, the number to the left of brackets indicate the number of notes higher and the one on the right the corresponding number of lower notes. No number is for cluster with three notes (one higher and one lower).
The constant presence of ties in the score represents the links that Nuán will like to maintain but that are lost forever. The precipitation of some notes, sometimes literally falling over the next one without a rhythmic pattern represents the precipitation of events that will follow the life of Nuán after Fo’s death.
Predominant tonality E flat major. The piece is composed over grand piano stave with sound of detuned FM EP. The cluster sounds have been obtained with additional (hidden) stave lines for the corresponding extra notes.
