The Conference on the Future of Europe has increased the momentum for citizens’ participation in policymaking. EU institutions are now debating how participatory democracy can also inform decision-making post-Conference while drawing from the experiences gained over the last decades, from the local to European. How can we make participatory democracy work after the Conference? What lessons were learned from the Conference? What can we learn from other participatory practices informing policymaking on different levels?
This event concluded the EPC’s Moving EuropE Together (MEET), discussing the project’s outcomes and general policy tractions. MEET ran in parallel to the Conference on the Future of Europe and aimed to supplement and reinforce the local dimension of the Conference by engaging citizens from eight member states.
