My process was 3 months from applying for the citizenship certificate, having it couriered to Ghana to applying for and receiving the passport in person at the high commission.
Proof Of Citizenship Certificate Application ONLINE:

Step 1:

Step 2:
Gather all documents for your Citizenship Certificate Application for children born abroad. - [ Ссылка ]
Documents needed:
- 2 IDs for the child: passport, health insurance identification card, travel document, etc.
Note: If you’re applying on behalf of a minor who does not have two pieces of identification, or does not have a photo ID, upload an explanation letter in place of the piece of ID.
- 1 digital photo of the child (citizenship size required)

- a coloured copy of the parent's Canadian birth certificate (long form) OR parent's Canadian citizenship certificate

Step 3:
Go back to your IRCC account, scroll down to where it says, Citizenship: Apply for a search or proof of citizenship. Fill out the questionnaire and application and attach all necessary documents to the application. [ Ссылка ]
Note: Pay attention to emails coming from your account regarding your application. They may contact you requiring more documentation. The faster you get it to them, the quicker your application will be processed.
Passport Application for child born abroad IN PERSON:
Fee: $100
Processing time: About 2 weeks
Step 1:
Gather all necessary documents for application. Depending on appointment availability you may be able to book your appointment first and then gather your documents as some appointments may be set for weeks or months ahead, giving you enough time to gather your documents. You may need a parental letter of consent form if you and the child’s other parent are not currently together (physically or relationship-wise). The parental letter of consent code is: PPTC 028 (form can be retrieved from the embassy or high commission) contact the embassy for more info regarding this.

- proof of the child’s Canadian citizenship (original, not a photocopy, but I always bring both, an original and a coloured photocopy)
- parent's long form birth certificate copy & original

Note: A guarantor must sign the application & 1 of the passport photos.
Step 2:
Email or call to book your appointment with The Embassy or High Commission of Canada in the country you’re applying from. Bring all documents with you to your appointment.
Note: You MUST book an appointment first, if you show up without an appointment, you won't be let in. Also usually there is NO parking at these governmental offices, plan accordingly.
