Henry Langrehr - A Savage Approach to Death - Pete A Turner, a combat veteran himself, asked World War II D-Day Paratrooper about the fog of war. Henry spent just a few weeks as an active combatant in June after the Allied forces land at Normandy. He spends the rest of his time in World War II as a Nazi held POW.
In that short few weeks though, Henry compiled enough horror from combat to last a lifetime. He lived and participated in the savagery of combat. His autobiography called, Whatever It Took. That combat reality is hard to understand from the safety of home...but in war, Death and those that create it, are working in a world where savagery is the norm.
