“Seasons” is inspired by the composer's perception of time passing by faster and faster. Seven times the seasons recur in it, each time shortened by one third.
It contains an ecological element as well: as time goes by, a massive low frequency noise (we hear it every day in big towns – especially in the morning) is emitted by a subwoofer and becomes more and more important. First, it is heard only in winter, later it becomes more prevalent and at the end, nature sounds are overwhelmed by the noise. References to other works include I Quattro Stagioni (Vivaldi, of course), Schmetterling (Grieg) and Der Vogel als Prophet (Schumann).
