Coral young face many obstacles in their first year of life, such as grazing fish, competition with other animals and plants living on the reef, sediments covering them, and warmer water temperatures during heatwaves.
To boost survival during this early life stage, our scientists are exploring a restoration technique called ‘coral seeding’.
