BAFTA nominee Ncuti Gatwa takes on the iconic role as the 15th Doctor in “Doctor Who.” From Ncuti’s early work in film and television to his breakout role in “Sex Education,” “No Small Parts” looks at his rise to fame.
Mizero Ncuti Gatwa born 15 October 1992 is a Rwandan-Scottish[4][5] actor. He began his career on stage at the Dundee Repertory Theatre. He was nominated for an Ian Charleson Award for his performance as Mercutio in a 2014 production of Romeo & Juliet at HOME. Gatwa had his breakout role as gay teenager Eric Effiong in the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education (2019–present), which earned him a BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actor in Television and three BAFTA Television Award nominations for Best Male Comedy Performance.[6][7][8][9][10] In 2022, he was cast as the fifteenth incarnation of the lead role in Doctor Who.
