Yes, you’ll be given prompts to get you going, but the pace and direction of the work is yours. Gain a clearer idea of how to write your book, whether fiction, autobiography, or non-fiction. We’ll discuss planning, writer’s block, procrastination, and publishing options.

Practitioner:
William Sutton is a novelist, musician and tutor based in Portsmouth. He teaches creative writing and classics, delivering workshops in festivals, schools, and universities, including lecturing at University of Portsmouth. His classes are friendly and detailed and have helped writers take their novels to the next stage: several have been published following workshops at Portsmouth Bookfest and at the Ashcroft.
Among his Titan Books historical mysteries, Lawless and the Flowers of Sin was a Book of the Year in the Mail on Sunday and Morning Star. Closely involved with Portsmouth Writers Hub, Will has made appearances from Edinburgh International Book Festival to Crimefest, and from Eton College to high-security prisons. His articles have been published in The Times, Fortean Times and The Author. His plays have been produced on LBC Radio and London stages. His journalism and short stories appear in magazines across the world. He plays double bass for chansonnier Philip Jeays and for Jamie and the Jets. He played cricket for Brazil. He lives in Southsea with his wife and daughter.
