So for Zika we have people that are experts in vector-borne viral disease, in birth defects, and reproductive health all in one place so they can work on these different aspects of the problem."

"There's a huge amount of travel to countries that have mosquito-borne transmission from Zika virus which is the predominate way it's transmitted. So, the returning travelers, I think we should expect that as travelers return they'll be tested and there are going to be many states that have returning travelers that have the infection."

"There is a preliminary report, or there's information about this virus causing birth defects that have been seen in other parts of the world. There's more to be learned about that. For people traveling to that part of the world it's important to protect yourselves from mosquito bites. For pregnant women considering traveling to those parts of the world, probably consider not traveling to those parts of the world. Right now those are the main messages."

"What is happening is new information is being brought in. There's a process of analysing that and developing recommendations based on that information which frequently can change because the information changes. So that, I think next door, that's the kind of thing that's taking place. Basically trying to come up with recommendations to deal with the situation."
