One reality of knife attacks is that you might not feel a stabbing at first. Your adrenaline makes you not aware of any of the pain.
In case of a multiple attackers situation, you might not even see who has the knife that stabs you; knife attacks can be quite chaotic. When your adrenaline comes down, that's when you will feel the pain.
Don't mistake your adrenaline for fear. It is what will keep you fighting after the pain, the kicks, the punches, stabs, etc. It's not anxiety or fright. You can learn over time how to control your adrenaline dump. An excellent way is to practice drills and scenarios with a self defense partner.
You need to prepare yourself so if you ever do get caught in a knife attack, you won't freeze up in panic or shock and allow your opponent to kill you.
Always fight with all you've got! Fight for your life!
