I want to talk to you about email automations - 3 of them - that EVERY subscription box owner needs to have!
I like to keep things simple - that means each automation is 2-3 emails. You can do more if you want to, but if you’re just getting started, start simple!
1. Waitlist Automation - triggered when someone joins the waitlist
○ Email #1 - you’re on the list!
▪️ Here are the details (what happens next)
▪️ Include images
▪️ Can offer the purchase of a past box
○ Email #2 - you don’t want to miss this box
▪️ Grab a past box
▪️ Tell your why
▪️ Nurture them so they REALLY want to subscribe when
you open
▪️ Remind them of your launch date if in pre-launch
○ Email #3 - let’s go behind the scenes
▪️ Let them in
▪️ Show the making of a current box if you don’t have a
past box
▪️ Connect the story of the box to the reader
2. New Subscriber Automation - triggered when someone signs up
○ Email #1 - how do things work
▪️ What can they expect
▪️ Answer FAQs you get in customer service
▪️ Include an image of you and the box
○ Email #2 - generate additional revenue
▪️ Offer an upgrade if you have more than one option
▪️ Offer a past box
▪️ Offer another product from your shop
▪️ If you don’t have anything else to sell, simply connect
with them
3. Abandoned Cart Automation - triggered when someone leaves the
site without checking out
○ Email #1 - “We saved your cart!”
○ Email #2 - “Your cart is about to expire!” or “This wants to
come home with you!”
○ Email #3 - “Your cart expires in 4 hours!”
○ With this automation, you’re just putting something in front of
them again that they already want.
If you already have these automations set up, take a look at your flows and see what you can change/improve.
