I woke up and said good morning to my dog and I was surprised to find my authentic voice coming out of my mouth….what a gift!
I’ve been talking to my friends and family in the last few hours. It’s SO nice to have this sound of my real voices coming out of my mouth without having that east European accent from me. It’s been hard to describe the experience of having the wrong sounds coming out from me – I haven’t been recognizing me for months.
And yet, behold! It’s a miracle lol. You may have seen my videos talking about having language go through my aphasia (the part of my location of the stroke) but at the moment it doesn’t feel like I’m having to work so hard to get the words out. There is some hesitation with some word-finding but it seems that even that is better than yesterday.
I’m sure that people will think that I have been faking or that it was all in my head – actually, it WAS all in my head lol. That just don’t know exactly part of my head! My brain is so curious to me. I’ve been trying to find the connections between the injured parts and my pre-stroke parts and today, today they have made a connection. I’m hoping it lasts! I feel fantastic but Miss Stella seems a little confused to hear my old voice coming from my mouth lol. She’ll have to deal with it!
