“It’s about people not politics,” is more than a campaign slogan, it summarises in my own words why I am running for Mayor of London. I am not a career politician or pushing party politics, I’m standing up for all Londoners. I am the only candidate genuinely fighting for working class women and men discriminated against by the current mayor’s policies, for London’s black cab drivers, cladding victims and university students. I’m fighting to unblock roads, to protect London’s green spaces, create 10 new parks and champion sensible environmental policies. Above all I am fighting to cut the waste, stop Labour and Tory cronyism and end the corruption. This is why I need you to vote for me, so that I can fight for you!
I represent ALL Londoners in a way that neither Khan nor Bailey can or will, because I am politically centrist. I grew up in a home where my mother voted Labour, my father voted Liberal and my brother voted Conservative. So, I’ve seen the best and worst of all parties – which is why I can represent all Londoners. Many think of UKIP as right wing, but it is in fact a very broad party, with members drawn from across the political spectrum, which is why they have given me this platform to run for mayor.
Over the past forty years I have been called upon by prime ministers, presidents and world leaders to help resolve national crises and have received commendations to the Queen for my work in uniting divided communities. However, my great passion is London. That is why I need your vote to make a difference for you and for all Londoners. I have lived and worked in and around London for most of my life and have had offices here for over thirty years. Sadly, we have seen the decline under successive Labour and Conservative administrations. Now It’s time for change.
Rising knife crime, a lack of affordable housing, shops and businesses going under, traffic congestion because of unused bicycle lanes, unnecessary road closures and a bankrupted public transport system are issues London needs a new mayor to resolve. Khan has bankrupted TfL, built enormous debts and yet when so many are struggling, he has announced that he will increase council taxes. I grew up on a council estate and I understand the struggles so many are facing at this time So, now, only you the voter can stop this.
London needs a new leader, a strong leader, a leader who won’t make empty promises, but will get things done. It needs a mayor with fresh ideas and enthusiasm to take us forward as the leading city of the world and not back to the 19th century, where everyone had to walk or cycle except the rich!
As mayor, I have many innovative plans to take the next decade. As a father of four and grandfather of two, I want to protect and to preserve all that is great about London for future generations.
Don’t let London be subjected to another four years of Khanage! This is why it is important that you don’t vote for your usual political party – but for the leader who can stop the decline and take London forward.
Make your vote count – vote Peter Gammons and let’s build a better, safer London for all.
Peter Gammons
