The North Carolina Tar Heels beat the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 59-53, in an offensive shootout. Tar Heels quarterback Sam Howell threw for 550 yards and 6 touchdowns and also rushed for a touchdown in the victory. Tar Heels wide receivers Dazz Newsome and Dyami Brown had 189 and 163 receiving yards respectively and caught 2 touchdowns each. For Wake Forest, quarterback Sam Hartman threw for 429 yards and 4 touchdowns, and rushed for a TD as well. Wide receivers Donavon Greene and Jaquarii Roberson teamed up for 170 and 167 yards collectively and hauled in 2 touchdowns each.
