Fact: Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. It’s a third of our mothers, sisters, friends, neighbors, coworkers and more. It’s a third of the women we can’t bear to live with it.
The American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, Go Red for Women, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally.
We believe the more a woman knows about heart disease, the better chance she has of beating it. That’s why, through the support of Johns Hopkins Medicine, National Capital Region, anchored by Sibley and Suburban Hospitals, the American Heart Association seeks to inspire and inform women to be strong advocates for their health and well-being through a series of short videos called, The Red Chair Series.
