According to TASS news agency, the Russian Admiral Gorshkov guided missile frigate recently successfully tested the Zircon anti-ship missile for the first time. The missile was tested on the Barents Sea and accurately hit the ground target with a range of more than 500 km.
It is Russia's third hypersonic missile and the first hypersonic missile for warships, after the Kinzhal air-launched hypersonic missile and the Avangard land-based hypersonic glide vehicle. Although the target of this test was on land, the main strike target of the missile was the US carrier strike group.
