Choeradodis rhomboidea is a mantis naturally found throughout the upper half of South America, and an accomplished leaf mimic. The pronotum of this species is adorned with a widened "hood", which very accurately mimics the leaves on which this species prefers to sit. In captivity, they will remain on the same leaf for days on end, waiting for prey. This video shows my male Choeradodis rhomboidea, Raphi, attacking and feeding on a wax moth.
