Lai Foong Lala Noodles 丽丰啦啦米粉
Location: Jalan Sultan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This is a Michelin Award Lala Noodles (Clam Noodles). They used to operate in a coffee shop with the same name at Jalan Pudu. Now they have moved to their own building with air-conditioned and better environment.
1. Lala MeeHoon Soup (Vermicelli), Score: 8/10
The soup is very sweet & umami because of the generous clams used in the cooking. If you want to know how to cook this dish, please view my other video on easy way to cook.
2. Lala Fried Rice, Score: 7.5/10
The "wok hei" of this fried rice is awesome. The rice is not clumped together and tastes very good. Just could not make any difference with the lala which was fried together.
3. Lala Fried MeeHoon, Score: 7.5/10
Also with similar "wok hei". The meehoon is dry & bouncy. Taste is nice. At least you can taste a bit of the lala soup/sauce in the fried meehoon compared to the fried rice.
Environment is nice & comfortable with air-cond.
Service is ok. Food is served within 10 minutes.
The price is reasonable.

Next, to a century old biscuit shop,
Fung Wong Biscuit 鳳凰餅家
Location: Jalan Sultan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This is a very old local brand. They have traditional Chinese biscuits & pastries of all sorts. The place has been refurbished and looks a bit simple & rustic.
Among them, recommended to try are their CharSiew So (biscuit with BBQ pork inside) and Kaya Roll (Swiss roll with coconut jam).
1. CharSiew So, Score: 7/10
CharSiew filling is minimal but the pastry is crispy & fluffy on the outside.
2. Kaya Roll, Score: 8.5/10
You can't stop eating it once you started your first bite. The Kaya is addictive. It is fragrant, not too sweet and the Swiss roll is fluffy, soft & buttery. Perfect combination.
Many pastries available, include Heong Peah, Pineapple Tarts, Coconut Cookies, Durian Cookies, etc.
Highly recommended to visit especially you are in the area. It is just next few doors to Lai Foong Lala Noodles.
Environment is nice & comfortable with air-cond. You can sit here and drink a cup of local coffee or tea while enjoying the local biscuits.
Service is ok.
The price is affordable.
