While I was studying in Canada back in 1990
One of our tutor came into our classroom and asked " Do you want to get an A for your assignment ? "
" Yes I do"
He immediately gave me an A
"now that you've your A, there shouldn't be any stress and you can do anything you like.
and now, after 20 years, I realize
we shouldn't do it for the "A", we should do it because we like to
Wong Kar Wai and William Chang taught me to break all the boundaries and free my mind.
blurry isn't necessary bad
under or overexpose isn't wrong.
and there are no right or wrong in composition.
That gave me a great amount of freedom to express myself without any limits.
Once, a friend told me how much he loved the framing of my photos.
and that the my composition is perfect.
"The framing in your photos are absolutely amazing"
I was pretty upset....Is framing the only distinction in my photographs?
I 've got a photo shoot coming up in two days and I had an idea.
I covered the viewfinder. I decided not to look at the viewfinder during the shoot and see how the photos would be turn out
I hold the camera like this.
I didn't frame my shots at all
The end result was a great surprise
The concept behind is very abstract.
The harder you force it, the end result won't be as good as doing it with a 100% carefree spirit.
It's WAY better!!
There's a idea in my mind these days
Can I accept everything about everything? There's no good or bad.
let's not be judgemental
I've been thinking about this for a very long time.
It changes how I usually take photographs.
Do not define your subjects.
But that's just what I believed in.
I am not asking you guys to copy my style
If you don't define your subject, you won't turn into me, definitely not!!
