Canadian artist Jayme Stone has been dubbed "the Yo-Yo Ma of the banjo" (Globe and Mail, Toronto), and his extraordinary virtuosity is matched only by his thirst for new musical experience. His newest project re-imagines the archive of American folklorist Alan Lomax, whose landmark field recordings captured traditional bluegrass, blues and other indigenous American musical forms. This concert was part of a week-long residency that included education outreach and work with the Lomax archives at the Library of Congress. Stone performed his Lomax Project with Bruce Molsky, vocals and fiddle; Julian Lage, guitar; and Margaret Glaspy, vocals and guitar.
