Hypoxia-inducible factor–prolyl hydroxylase domain inhibitors
(HIF-PHIs) are a new class of oral drugs for the treatment of anemia in CKD patients. They demonstrate comparable efficacy to erythropoietin-stimulating agents (ESA) in anemia correction and maintenance. Despite expectations, they have not shown better outcomes compared to ESA.
This webinar starts with a clinical case and proposes some points of reflection on which patients could be candidates for the use of this new class of drugs.
