In this week's Friday Value Video (FVV), Eileen looks at more osteoarthritis misconceptions. This week's misconception: is arthritis genetic? Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the tissues in the joints break down over time. Diseases are health impairments and causes of abnormal functioning. So did you inherit bad genes and abnormal functioning? The good news is, diet can help to overpower genetics by turning off and on different genes. Moreover, since the primary cause of joint damage is chronic inflammation, and you do not inherit inflammation, we need to look at the root cause. What parts of your life that are possibly causing inflammation in your body have you inherited?
