I forgot I was doing these. But Pyrr's out for a root canel and I'm a tad under the weather. I don't want to be going over viewer ideas while feeling out of sorts, but do you know what'd make me feel better? BITCHING ABOUT POKEMON! So we're continuing where we left off with Gen 5!
Now this isn't just any old tier list, the criteria is a little more specific than just "I like this Pokemon more" or "This Pokemon is better than that one!" This is about how well I think these Pokemon are designed from a visual/lore standpoint and how those designs serve the wider worldbuilding of the Pokemon universe. What I think the initial strength's of Pokemon design were and why I think those have fallen by the wayside in recent generations.
...in other words, it's "I like this Pokemon more" but with a pretentious explanation lol. But there is a genuine purpose behind the goal! I was EXTREMELY invested in the Pokemon world in the past, it sparked my imagination like few others, it was a world I could imagine myself living in, catching and raising Pokemon of my own. But with every generation that feeling fades, and I THINK the creature designs are a big part of that. But I don't know for sure, and I want to be able to articulate that design opinion, so I'm making this design tier list as a 'self reflective journey', if you will, to see if I can get to the bottom of this feeling of mine, or if trying to confront it directly gives a newfound appreciation that I haven't had for the newer Pokemon designs!
