It has been 40 years since Israel enabled and aided the Lebanese Phalange to commit a horrific massacre in Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. About 3500 Palestinians and Lebanese were killed during the massacre.

On September 6, 1983, Israeli troops surrounded Sabra and Shatila camps, preventing refugees from leaving.

Israel only allowed entry of the right wing Christian Phalange, giving them the green light for mass murder.

Phalange militia murdered about 3500 Palestinians and Lebanese during the 2-day massacre of Sabra and Shatila.

Bodies of men, women, elderly, children, and infants were scattered in the streets and alleys.

Eyewitnesses reported that horrific crimes were committed inside the two camps:
Extrajudicial killings
Torture
Sexual violence
Mutilation

In 1983, the UN found Israel guilty of the mass killing, declaring it an act of genocide.

Ariel Sharon, who later became Israel's PM, was seen as the main responsible for the massacre.

However, he was not held accountable.

4 decades passed. Israel is still very accustomed to shedding the Palestinian blood and escaping responsibility.
