Two months of cruising the cut in all weather, whilst listening to Andrea Bocelli. I've been making my way off the Macclesfield canal and on to the upper peak forest canal and stopping off, mooring up and enjoying the magnificent views and wildlife. At furness Vale, my boat comes out of the water, into drydock, where my narrowboat home hull is blacked, and I spent time re painting the roof and other parts of the boat. After my stay in drydock and short stay in the marina, I cast off and cruise up to Bugsworth Basin at the end of the canal. Here, I enjoy not only its history, but it's beautiful nature and wildlife.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave
