Pharaoh Ptolemy III Euergetes was third king of the Ptolemaic Kingdom which reached the height of power during his reign. He was born in 280 BC in Egypt which is where he was buried when he died in 222 BC. Alexandria, Egypt to be exact.
The small circle indentation seen in the middle of the coin on each side is from when the planchet was being made. There would be a tool that held the small bronze piece in place while the outside of the planchet was cut down to the correct size & weight. A lot of Ptolemaic coinage have these marks. Usually right in the middle.
