Together for sustainability is an initiative founded in 2011 by the chief procurement officers of six multinational chemical companies. The purpose is to develop and implement a global audit program for suppliers to assess and improve sustainability practices within procurement and the supply chains of the chemical industry. TfS aims for an open and constructive dialog with the suppliers and relevant stakeholders to improve the working and environmental conditions in the global supply chains and to shape sustainable business models. TfS wants to use resources more efficiently and reduce the bureaucratic burden for suppliers as it shares supplier sustainability assessment and audit data. TfS uses a shared infrastructure for a collaborative approach to build more sustainable supply chains. With the TfS program double audits and assessments are avoided but a high quality through selected and qualified partners is guaranteed. In addition risks related to sustainability requirements are lowered. Knowing the sustainability performance allows to improve performance overall. The assessment for procurement, done by the partner Ecovadis, combines technology and sustainability expertise to deliver simple and reliable supplier scorecards.
