Political polarization has become an increasingly common and prevalent development in the modern world. As a teenager passionate about social change and political reform, Wyatt discusses what he believes to be the core issue in the modern political environment and its potential harms.
Wyatt, a graduating senior at the SMIC Private School, shares his opinions on the current situation of political polarization. As an aspiring political science student and a 4-year competitive debater, he has been closely following current affairs to understand the societal developments worldwide only to realize the increasing tension between those with different political beliefs. He believes that this trend is alarming and counterproductive—right and wrong are often a matter of perspective, and through each opposing viewpoint, we gain invaluable insights and nuances.
