Israel's cabinet has voted to close a migrant detention center where thousands of Africans currently reside. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced an agreement to deport 40-thousand Africans who entered the country illegally. Authorities say ministers unanimously approved plans to shutter the Holot center in southern Israel and gave migrants a three-month deadline to leave the country or face deportation. Official figures from June 30th show there were over 38-thousand African migrants in the country, including Eritreans and Sudanese, and their presence in south Tel Aviv has raised discontent among Israelis there and elsewhere.
