Oasis are back home.
A quick tour across the USA and Europe in June has ended, and Oasis are coming home to a sold-out three-night stand at the new (at the time it was roughly 2 years old) City of Manchester Stadium. This stadium replaced Maine Road, which closed its doors in 2003, the same year that the new stadium opened. It's a little bittersweet, as Oasis definitely could've played at Maine Road one more time in 2002ish, but a new band deserves a new stadium. The max capacity for concerts at the City Of Manchester is 60,000, 20,000 more than Maine Road, and there was 60,000 every night.
The setlist compared to the other nights is different. While the second and the third night are exactly the same, the first night features the last ever Love Like A Bomb, which would be replaced by A Bell Will Ring the following night. Acquiesce also returns for its tour debut.
The recording of this night is a little wonky, there are definitely a few cuts here and there. It doesn't eat into the songs at all, but they are noticeable. Obviously, nothing beats the quality of the second night as it was professionally recorded for Lord Don't Slow Me Down, but the third night's audience recording is also very good. Hopefully I can get to that gig quickly.
I haven't uploaded a Don't Believe The Truth gig in 8 months, so these gigs are great with me jumping back and forth.
