There are 2 ways to use the bezel on a diver's watch - learn how to count elapsed time so that fancy Rolex isn't just a pretty chunk of steel on your wrist!
The basic steps for COUNTING UP:
Step 1: Align the top of the bezel (usually an arrow where the 60/0 is) with the minute hand.
Step 2: Read the minute hand against the newly aligned bezel to count the minutes.
The basic steps for COUNTING DOWN (elapsed time):
Step 1: Figure out how long you want timed (let’s say 20 minutes)
Step 2: Subtract that time from 60 (so 60-20 = 40)
Step 3: Find the answer on your bezel and roll it to where the minute hand currently is (so place 40 at the minute hand)
Step 4: The minute hand will now count down to the illuminated marker. When the minute hand reaches the illuminated marker 20 minutes has passed and it’s time to surface (if you’re diving!)
