In this episode of Stories: Let's Connect!, Eva Wong Nava reads "The Rabbit Listened" by Cori Doerrfeld. The story is about Taylor, whose building blocks get ruined by a flock of birds. Taylor is upset about this, and the chicken, bear and snake do not quite seem to understand his sadness. It is only when the Rabbit takes the time out to listen to his troubles that he feels better and at ease. This story highlights the importance of being a good listener and consoling a friend who may be emotional and upset.
“The Rabbit Listened” is written and illustrated by Cori Doerrfeld, and published by Scallywag Press (ISBN: 978-1-912650-14-9).
