The first French Mail Service was established on 19th June 1464, but this only operated for King and the Royal Court. The first France Postage Stamps were the 20 Centimes Black and 1 Franc Orange Vermillion. These were issued on 1st Jan 1849. Since then France issued beautiful stamps depicting outstanding art, tradition and culture. Collectors enjoy a rich diversity of early classics.
